How?

If you don't know ... or haven't heard.  Our little Connor is in the ICU at Barnes Children's Hosptial in St. Louis.

Since we are a couple of days late in putting up this blog... let's play catch-up.

Monday night:  Connor was in a car accident and immediately flown to Barnes Children's hospital.  He remained unconscious and was evaluated by a team of doctors.  They put a tube down his throat to help him breath and a catheter in.  The conclusion was that he had a broken nose and collar bone.  On Tuesday they would do a CAT scan/ MRI.

Tuesday:
Connor has not woken up yet.  He has a fever. He coughes and cries and has good reflexes.  Meds were given for his pain that calms him a little.  An MRI was done on his brain...we should know the results on Wednesday. The tube did come out of his throat today and he is breathing on his own.  We sing to him and talk to him but as we go to sleep... he still has not opened his eyes.

Wednesday:  Last night was a good night ... all things considering.  He still has not woke up but he is breathing on his own although very heavy.  He isn't responding to anything verbally...but we know he is enjoying the singing. He does respond to pain. He has tremendous pain that the morphine helps relieve.  The results of the MRI came back.  There are about 10 spots damaged on his brain and 2 spots on the cable between the two lobes.  On a good side...his catheter is out and he had 3 wet diapers...  We celebrated!  As we go to bed he still kicks his legs, cries and coughs...but still we haven't seen his eyes.  Hopefully tomorrow...

bathed, tucked in and ready for a good nights sleep
