I know many of you read the blog yesterday and the heaviness on your heart was lifted a little and you could walk just a little bit lighter. Connor had a big day yesterday... we celebrated. He was moved out of the ICU to the Neuro rehab floor. He seemed to enjoy the ride here to his new room. When the bed was rolling... he was laughing ... and when it would stop... he would cry! And when arriving to the room The Wiggles and Giggles were on and he smiled a couple of times. Oh...that sweet laugh and smile...something we will never take for granted again. He still sleeps most of the time...but now we know he can wake up. Grandpa Doug walked in last night and he opened his eyes 2 more times to see him.
Connor tucked into bed for the night surrounded
by all the wonderful things people have sent.
THANK YOU!
Many of you have asked how to send things to Connor or the family:
The address is:

Life at the hospital: Well, it is much like shift work. One person can sleep in his room with him and two others are allowed to be in there in the chairs provided. So we take turns every night. One of us gets to cuddle and sleep by him and the other two watch him as if any minute he will wake up and jump out of bed and be the crazy Connor we all know and love. During the day we rotate who gets to be with him...as there is a limit to the number of people that can be in the room. If we all could be in the room...believe me...we would!
Last Night: He had an OK night. It was Aunt Jen and Grandpa Doug's shift. He cried about every 30 min. He had pain meds at 1 a.m. and didn't have to have them again for 6 hours...so that was good.
This morning: He woke up this morning...for only about 3 minutes...but he woke up again. He was crying because of the pain...which made us sad... but at least he had his eyes open. The doctors explain to us that it will be a long road and we will have to take baby steps... but any steps are good steps.
What today brings... God only knows.... we hope we Celebrate.
Kathy our thoughts and prayers are with you all, as you journey through this difficult time….you are in a great place to receive the best of care, I know the Dr’s and staff there are the best...be strong and give Conner a kiss for us. With you in our though Jerry and Carol Smith
