Friday: Last night was a good night... We got to pick him up and love on him. We are sure he feels our love for him. There have been so many wonderful visitors and people calling to ask about him and many people praying for him...we just know this will have a happy ending.
Mommy by Connor's side this morning
He has a tube down his throat so the blood that is in his stomach can be drained. The doctors came in this morning...the next step... to put a feeding tube in and move him out of ICU....which neither have happened yet. He still moves, coughs and cries. They still give him morphine for the pain. Mommy asked him this morning " Hey Connor, do you want to go outside?" It is almost as if he heard her...and opened his right eye for 20 seconds or so. We celebrated.
A friend of the family had a care package delivered today with snacks and whatnots in it. It had a Buzz Lightyear toy in it. Incase you all weren't aware....Connor's favorite movie is Toy Story. He loves all the characters. Daddy was trying to get the toy out which makes the typical Buzz Lightyear sounds and grandma says " Well, let's wait until we get to the next room, instead lets just put the Toy Story movie on for him".... so, of course, we did.... and .... WE CELEBRATED!!!!!
You see... Toy Story will always have a magical place in our hearts... because Connor heard Toy Story... and...
CONNOR WOKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He knew us.... he looked at Daddy, he looked at mommy, he looked at grandma.... he knew us ... he kept his eyes open. We got to see him...really see him for the first time in 4 days!
WE CELEBRATED!!!!!!!!!!!!
The bellow of celebration could be heard all throughout the hallways... well that and grandma Kathy was running down the hallways telling everyone that he had woken up!
So ... yes... this is a... GOOD GOOD DAY! This will be the one that goes into our memory log forever.
Connor with his eyes open... awake!!!!
What an answer to prayer! We are still praying and hoping for good, good days! Love to all,

I'm so glad he is responding and opening his eyes for you all! Prayers are being answered and you have LOTS of people praying that he will be completely healed and come home soon! I've been a nurse for 9 years but I'm also a mom of a 2 year old who has been in and out of the hospital so I know how difficult it is to see a baby in this condition. My thoughts and prayers are with you daily!! Thank you for starting this blog so everyone can keep track of his progress. Bless you all!
